Simbang Gabi is a cherished Filipino tradition that brings the community together for nine days of spiritual preparation before the celebration of the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ on December 25. Rooted in deep faith and cultural heritage, this novena of Masses is traditionally held at 4:00 AM in the Philippines. After each Mass, parishioners enjoy the festive atmosphere, often indulging in Bibingka and Puto Bumbong, traditional Filipino delicacies sold outside the church.
Simbang Gabi is not just a series of early morning Masses; it is a time for preparing our hearts and lives for the coming of Christ, fostering unity, and deepening our relationship with God.
Here at St. Mary Parish in National City, we are proud to continue this meaningful tradition. Our Simbang Gabi Masses will be celebrated from December 15 to December 23.
Weekend Masses: 5:00 PM
Weekday Masses: 6:00 PM
We invite everyone to join us in this beautiful journey of faith and tradition. Let us prepare our hearts together for the coming of our Savior.
